Master Gary Bradshaw (7th Degree)

Master B photoTaekwon-Do is a real family affair for the Bradshaw’s with Master Bradshaw being the Chief Instructor and Head Coach. As well as co-ordinating and overseeing the activities of all the Heart of England Schools Master Bradshaw runs 2 schools of his own at Hucknall and Kimberley  With over 31 years of Taekwon-Do experience and teaching Taekwon-Do full time for the last 27 years Master Bradshaw has succeeded in taking over numerous students to Black Belt, 20 of whom he has subsequently helped to develop into new school Instructors.

Qualified as an International Instructor and Referee & grading examiner, Master Bradshaw has also been a regular on the International Coaching circuit with tremendous success having trained 50+ ITF World Champions. He has been the ITF National Team UK coach on 4 occasions coaching the England Teams to many International successes including the British, Korean, Australian and Argentinean ITF World Championships “Our aim is to teach traditional Taekwon-Do to anyone who has the commitment to do the best that they can do”

Master Bradshaw is a dedicated coach who arranges extra training in his free time and always gives his all to motivate the competitors. The programme of training that he uses ensures that his students get top level training specific to their individual needs. His successes at International level range in age from 11 years to 52 years of age male and female. He is able to get the best out of all students and competitors and is excellent at spotting individual potential and working them through to the best that they can be. This is on top of Regional and National Competition success where he motivates and encourages those as young as 4 years old to do their very best and deal with the times that they do not achieve medal results but helps them get better for the next time. He is honest with everyone and if he tells you that you need to work on certain elements of your training he does it in such a way that motivates you for your own good.

As a group, we receive no funding and therefore a lot of Master Bradshaw’s time is spent fundraising and organising events for the competitors to showcase their talents a total of £20,000 had to be raised in order to get the competitors to the Taekwon-Do World Championships in Korea July 2010.

Even with this to contend with he always manages to get us performing at our best. His job doesn’t end with the lead up he is constantly busy at competitions making sure all our competitors are prepared and of course at the right place at the right time. Without Master Bradshaw, we would not have been able to perform as well as we did in Korea.

In order for all the students who train within the Heart of England group to attend World Championship and International competition he has formed a LTD company (Heart of England LTD) which provides Martial Arts services and merchandise the profits of which are used to sponsor those students selected for International events.

In 2010 Master Bradshaw was awarded the Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Coach of the Year and the Derbyshire Performance Coach of the Year Awards for the Heart of England Team’s numerous National Competition successes in the preceding 12 months but also for the Team’s successes at the 2010 World Championships in Korea where the Team won 19 Medals from 13 Competitors – 5 of them Gold and one team member being awarded Best Overall Senior Male.

Recent years have resulted in him having the opportunity to train with GM Hwang over in America and around the world which continues to improve his Taekwon-Do knowledge which he then passes on to those in his group

He was RAF Team coach for 3 years taking them to be the winners of the inter services championships best results for them in recent years. Most recently his skills have been used to provide training for the Eastwood Youth project a scheme which helps young people into work.

He is still training the Elite members of the group towards more World championship success.
